- Pick the image that is closest to right, even if one part is wrong.
- Write the edit as one plain instruction: ‘make the mug matte black’, not a whole new prompt.
- Attach a reference image when consistency matters, such as a product or a character. Midjourney's edit model accepts up to four.
- Make one change per pass. Stacking edits in one instruction makes it hard to tell what helped.
Save each good step so you can go back if a later edit drifts.
